How to book, step by step

From the first form to a confirmed plan takes a few emails. This page explains what we ask, why we ask it, how child seats and hotel rooms are confirmed, and what happens if the weather closes the river.

The steps

  1. 01

    Send the form

Which trip, your name, email, month and how many are travelling. The optional section is where ages, mobility and naps go.

  2. 02

    We reply by email

With questions, or with a first day plan for your party: ease table, hotel if any, and a price for the whole trip.

  3. 03

    Adjust it

Shorter boat leg, longer rest, a lift at the hotel, a vegetarian lunch. We re-price each version in full.

  4. 04

    We check and hold

Car, child seats, boats and hotel are checked for your date and held where the supplier allows.

  5. 05

    Confirm in writing

A written confirmation with the final day plan and the payment instructions. Nothing is paid before this.

We reply by email to the address you give. If our reply does not arrive, check your spam folder; replies to a new address sometimes land there.

What we ask, and why

We askBecause
Ages of children, and heights for the under-tensFrom 1 January 2026 a child under 10 or shorter than 1.35 m may not sit in the driver's row and must use a suitable safety device. We request seats to match.
Anyone over seventy, or using a cane, walker or wheelchairSo we can choose houses, wharves and hotel rooms that work, and tell you honestly where they do not.
How far everyone walks comfortablyIt decides which orchard and how the day is split.
Nap timesWe plan drives around them where we can.
Diet and allergiesFor the garden lunches and, above all, the cooking day.
Where you are stayingPick-up time depends on it; outer districts add travel.

Child seats: what we can and cannot promise

Under the 2024 road traffic law (in force since 1 January 2025), from 1 January 2026 children under 10 or below 1.35 m must not sit in the same row as the driver and must use a suitable safety device. The sources we checked do not spell out how this applies to every hired vehicle, and not every car company in the delta keeps seats for every age.

So we do two things. We ask for each child's age and height and request the right seat from the car company for your date. And we tell you in the confirmation exactly which seats were secured. If a seat cannot be secured, we say so before you pay, and you can bring your own: some travel seats can be fitted with a standard rear seat belt; check yours before you pack it.

Hotel rooms on two-day trips

The hotel is named on your quote with its room type. If anyone needs a lift or a ground-floor room, choose that when you book; we only confirm a hotel that meets it and write it into the confirmation. Early check-in, for a nap after the drive, is a request unless we book and pay for it as a guarantee; the quote says which.

Payment

Payment instructions are set out on your written confirmation, never in a separate message. If you ever receive a request to pay to an account that is not on your written confirmation, do not pay; send us the form and ask.

Before you pay

Do not send card details by email. The written confirmation tells you how to pay.

Weather, floods and the river

Boats on the delta follow local rules. Can Tho's transport department, for example, requires life jackets for passengers at tourist piers and reduces or suspends boat operations in storms and floods. When a boat leg is cancelled for weather, we replace it with time on land, such as a longer orchard visit or an earlier lunch, and tell you what changes in the price, if anything.

In the flood season, roughly September to November, the highest tides can flood riverside streets in Can Tho and Vinh Long for a few hours. In 2025 the authorities asked residents to limit travel at high tide, 05:00 to 08:00 and 16:00 to 19:00. We plan around those hours when they apply.

Visas and documents

Most visitors to Vietnam need a visa or an exemption before they arrive. Vietnam issues e-visas to all nationalities for stays of up to 90 days, applied for only through the official immigration portal, evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn. Our trips stay inside Vietnam, so no border crossing is involved. Carry your passport: hotels ask for it at check-in.

Changing your mind

You can change the date, the party or the trip at any point before confirmation without cost. After confirmation, the terms written on your confirmation apply; they set out what can be refunded and when, because hotels and boat operators each have their own rules.

Common questions

Questions travellers ask most

How far ahead should we book?

For a day trip, a couple of weeks is usually enough outside holiday periods. For a two-day trip around the Lunar New Year, or if you need a lift or several child seats, book as early as you can.

Can we book for tomorrow?

Sometimes. Send the form and say so; we will tell you what is still possible, which may be the trip without child seats or without a particular hotel.

Do you take bookings by phone?

No. We work by form and email so that every detail, from car seats to the lunch menu, is written down.

What happens if our flight is delayed and we miss the day?

Tell us as soon as you know. We will try to move the trip; what can be refunded depends on the terms in your written confirmation.
